star bullet pointUnfortunately, not everyone is looking forward to Christmas & for some all they want this festive season is to feel safe at home! Safe2Speak are here to help

Safe2Speak Support over Christmas

The majority of our Safe2Speak services remain open as staff  will be spending the festive season making sure local victims of domestic abuse have someone to talk to & are provided advice to remain safe this Christmas.

Safe2Speak Refuge remains open 24/7  over the Christmas and New Year period with staff continuing to support to residents, take in new admissions and answer 24-hour helpline calls.  You can contact the refuge or access our 24hr helpline by calling 01925 220541.

One of our Domestic Abuse Outreach Workers will be based at Refuge on 28th/29th/30th December and they will be working to process high and medium risk referrals to the Safe2Speak service to prevent delays in victims being contacted & being offered specialist support. They will be contactable via the 24hr helpline on 01925 220541 or by calling 01744 755137.

The wider Safe2Speak IDVA/Outreach service will close at 5pm on Christmas Eve and reopen on Tuesday 4th January 2022.

Online Support

If it is not safe for you to call for advice or help, please click here for information on accessing support online.

Is your behaviour abusive?

Are you worried about your own behaviours? Have you harmed the ones you love – emotionally and/or physically? Whether you’ve been abusive or violent once, twice, or many times, there’s probably a pattern to the things you do.

In conjunction with RESPECT UK, we encourage you to reflect on your behaviours and how they have harmed others. Becoming aware of how you’re acting will help you take control of your behaviours – and ultimately, stop.

Call the Respect UK helpline on 0808 8024040 for non-judgemental advice & support or reach out to them online here https://respectphoneline.org.uk/contact-us/

If you’re not sure if your behaviour is abusive, click here to learn more about types of abusive relationships.

Torus Tenants

If you are a Torus Tenant & have a tenancy related issued – please note Torus will close on Friday, 24 December 2021 and will re-open again on Tuesday, 4 January 2022.

If you have an emergency repair during this time, please contact our out of hours team on 0800 678 1894. Emergency repairs are faults that could seriously damage health or the property.
Please only call with a genuine emergency to make sure those who need our support are able to get it.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
