About Us

We are a team of trained domestic abuse advisors, working in partnership with a range of agencies to safeguard and protect victims of domestic abuse.

The service is delivered by Helena Partnerships but you needn’t be a tenant of Helena to get help.

Safe2Speak offers support to any resident of St Helens who is a victim of domestic abuse, whatever your living situation.

Our service is free, confidential, supportive, informative, non-judgmental and available to anyone experiencing domestic abuse of any kind: sexual, physical, emotional or financial.

Since 2011 we have been coordinating and delivering domestic abuse services. In that time we have received over 3,000 referrals, providing each and every victim with a safe place to speak and access to the right support for their needs.

Domestic abuse is not acceptable, not inevitable, and together – we can make it stop. We believe that everyone should be able to live free from abuse and the fear of abuse within their own home. No one should live in fear.

We will:

  • Support anyone that is affected by domestic abuse regardless of gender-identity, race, religion, beliefs, or sexual orientation
  • Empower anyone affected by domestic abuse to make informed, safe choices
  • Aim to educate individuals, children, families, professionals and communities about domestic abuse and provide an understanding of healthy relationships
  • Strive to end every form of abuse – sexual, physical, emotional, and financial

One to one advice

Our qualified and highly experienced team provide emotional, practical and safety support for male and female victims of domestic abuse. This includes guidance through the Criminal Justice and Civil Court systems.

Safe2Speak Programme

Safe2 Speak training is a 6 week tailored programme for anyone over the age of 16 who is experiencing domestic abuse. It focuses on recognising the signs of abuse, provides tried and tested safety advice, emotional support and the opportunity for victims to meet new people in a safe, secure and non-judgemental environment.

Safe Accomodation

We offer refuge space for single women, single men and families escaping domestic abuse. The address is confidential. Our specialist staff provide residents with the skills they need to begin a new life, free from fear and away from the perpetrator.

24 hour helpline

The 24 hour domestic abuse helpline is operated by trained staff to provide advice, guidance and emotional support to victims of domestic abuse.

Training courses
